Perfect Chaos (Unyielding #1)(78)

“That’s because they’re too scared of you to say anything.”

He growled, but it turned into a chuckle.

“Sweet mother of fuck. Deck chuckles? I need to blow a horn. We need an announcement.” Crisis, the bass guitarist of Tear Asunder, sauntered into the kitchen grinning ear to ear. “Guess no more grabbing her perfect ass. Have to make do with Haven’s, only single chick left in the group.”

I laughed because touching Haven was off-limits. First of all, Ream would kill him because Haven was his twin sister and Crisis was a cocky, arrogant womanizer. Secondly, from the limited times I’d met Haven, I was betting she’d snap his neck if he even tried it. The girl was cold, like ice cold, although it was deceiving considering she looked like an angel.

“I dare you to try it, smarty-pants,” I said.

Crisis wiggled his brows and his arrogant grin broadened. “Oh, I did when we got back a few days ago.” He pointed to his slightly bruised cheekbone. “She has one hell of a punch. But I’m good with a little rough and tumble. I’ll be tasting her before the week …” His voice trailed off when he noticed Deck shaking his head and me wincing.

Crisis swore beneath his breath and sighed.

“You fuckin’ go near my sister, you’re dead.” Ream slammed his fist into the back of Crisis’ shoulder. “Shut the fuck up about it, man.”

“Need any help …” Kat came in and stopped abruptly as she looked from Crisis to Ream. Then she sighed, went up to her fiancé and slid her arms around his waist from behind before she kissed his neck. “Baby, get the orange juice.”

I smiled when I saw the tension ease out of Ream. He shot Crisis another glare before going to the fridge, taking out the orange juice and walking back out to the terrace where Logan, Emily, Kite, Vic, Tyler and Matt were. Josh opted out on the invitation and this was the first time Vic and Tyler had come.

Deck kissed me on the mouth then let me go, picked up the tray of fruits and brought them outside. Kat sank down onto a bar stool, smiling with a glimmer of laughter in her eyes. “Girl, I never thought I’d see the day. You and Deck … holy smokin’. Deck always scared the shit out of me. Shit, he still does, even when he kisses you like he’s all sweet ‘n stuff.” She jumped up and down in her seat. “Oh, my God, Vic …” She lowered her voice. “You see those arms? I swear he must have an eight-pack beneath that t-shirt. Almost willing to push him in the pool so I can see them against his wet shirt.” She lowered her voice. “But Jesus, I swear he is—”

“Scary as hell,” Emily finished as she came out of the bathroom. Her arm came around me and she kissed my check. “I don’t even want to know what that guy does for Deck.”

It was great having Kat and Emily back, especially now that I felt … well, free to be myself. They’d never know about Vault or Connor—that would only put them at risk—but we’d curbed the drinking cover story. Kai wasn’t pleased, but Deck told him too bad.

“I asked him to fuck me in the shower.”

Both Kat and Emily’s mouths dropped open and stared at me as if I had two heads.

“You think he looks scary now … damn, that cupcake made my vagina shrink up and hide. He shoved me against the wall then put his hand around my throat and squeezed.” I had their rapt attention. “I’m thinking he doesn’t like teasing.”

“Shit.”

“Jesus.”

“Deck know?” Emily asked.

I shook my head. “Are you kidding me? Deck threw a punch at Tyler because I …” I winced, thinking about my stupid remark. “This was before we were together and I was pissed at him.”

“Like usual,” Kat said.

I smiled. “So, I said something about Tyler and me fucking.”

Emily gasped. Kat laughed.

“Tyler landed on his ass.”

“Mouse, you coming?” Logan popped his head in from the terrace. He winked at me and I smiled.

“Girl gossip, Logan. You and Ream stole my girls for months. We’re busy comparing dicks.”

“Fuck,” he groaned. Then he slammed the screen door shut and I heard him say, “They’re comparing our fuckin’ dicks in there.”

Tyler and Crisis laughed their asses off and I saw Deck scowling, but when his eyes met mine, he grinned.

He knew me. He knew I spewed bullshit and he loved me anyway. Deck loved me. He always had. I bit my lower lip as I thought of his cock inside me this morning. That was how I woke up: him behind me, pushing inside. It was so hot waking up to him like that.

“Earth to Georgie.” Emily squeezed my shoulders.

“She’s thinking about Deck’s cock,” Kat said. “So, is he controlling in bed?”

“Is Ream?” I knew the answer. Ream was crazy obsessed with Kat, to the point of needing therapy kind of obsessed, but it worked for them.

Kat moaned. “He plays me like a hard rock song and that’s all I’m telling.”

Emily and I laughed.

“Babe. Now. Meat is ready.” Deck was at the screen door now. He raised his brows then walked back to the BBQ where Logan and Ream were pulling the meat off the burner.

I sighed as a wave of heat hit me. I needed a dip in the plunge pool. I didn’t think I’d ever stop wanting or needing him. Shit, I’d wanted him since I was sixteen and that had never faltered despite my best efforts.
